Wedding Dress Up Games

Of all the different kinds of dress up games, wedding dress up games are easily a favorite. The best thing about the dress up games is how creative you can be with your styles and attention to detail. The more detailed a wedding dress up game is, the more I like it.

In the wedding dress up games, I start with a basic doll. I then select a wedding dress style for the doll to wear. I’ve tried every kind of dress, but I always come back to two opposites. The large princess style dresses and the sleek cosmopolitan style dresses for my creations. I must have a split wedding personality.

Once the dress has been selected, you can take the time to choose hairstyles and accessories, including tiaras and veils. At the end you have a fully dressed bride, ready to waltz down the aisle to meet the man of her dreams – it’s all terribly romantic. In some versions of the dress up games, you can even create the groom in addition to the bride to make the full wedding party.

The Best of Dress Up Games

I love dress up games. The best parts of the dress up games are the many different kinds of games you can play when you sit down to enjoy some time with fashion. Among the dozens of different kinds of dress up games, here are a few of my personal top choices.

Holiday Dress Up Games – It might be the end of the holiday season, but I’m already thinking of dressing up the holiday dolls for next year. The holiday dress up games let you pick Christmas clothing and other styles for your online creations.

Hollywood Dress Up Games – The Hollywood games are fun to play because you see a lot of your own favorite stars. Dressing teen idols and other celebrities is a lot of fun.

Wedding Dress Up Games – I’m a sucker for romance, and I love wedding dress up games. To play the wedding dress up games, you simply design a wedding style for the doll to wear including the dress and veil. The end result is romantic and, of course, a lot of fun.

Christmas Dress Up Games

Playing dress up games is very much a part of the holiday season. When you play dress up games, you’re able to select new fashionable looks for the doll in the game, or you can use that doll to help you pick new outfits for yourself. When considering buying a special outfit, such as a new Christmas dress, you browse through the store looking for particular things and then have to try on so many of them. But spending time online playing dress up games can help you cut your shopping time dramatically.

If you play the dress up games before heading to the store, you’ll know exactly the sorts of things you’re looking for clothing-wise. You might realize that tailored pants and a satin or velvet top is more to your liking than an actual dress. Look for styles that resonate with you and keep a few in mind when you start the shopping trip. The more prepared you are ahead of time, the more successful your trip will be finding the sorts of clothing you’ve been looking for.

Winter Dress Up Games

The winter is easily one of my favorite times to play dress up games. Warmer months mean you normally wear fewer clothing, but in the winter, you can put on layers of clothing and find all kinds of comfortable, fashionable attire to wear that is perfect for the season. Easily one of my favorite things is the wide selection of new jackets.

Wearing a beautiful jacket makes any outfit feel glamorous. My own jacket collection is vast and I don’t even live in a very cold place. I have a jacket for every occasion – from formal dances to winter sporting events. No matter what mood I’m in, I have a jacket to match it.

The winter also means saying so long to high heels for the most part. You might be lucky enough to live where there isn’t ice and snow, but the rest of us do a bit better with flatter shoes that are more practical on wet and shiny sidewalks. I love fleece lined boots, especially with leggings or jeans tucked inside. Wearing clothing that fuzzy and warm makes me thing of pajamas, even if I’m dressed up in something very much not pajamas.

Dress Up Games for All Ages

I’m firmly convinced that dress up games are truly for all ages. When you settle down to play dress up games as a child, you get to have fun dressing up Barbies and other fashion dolls. As an adult the games change a bit, but there is still a great deal to the experience that you might not have originally considered.

Dress up games don’t have to be online. You can play dress up games in your closet, but most often you find them in dressing rooms. Playing dress up games while shopping is hugely common. To enjoy these games, you start by picking out as many outfits as you want and then trying them on one by one.

As you try on the clothing, you’ll be looking for the outfits that feel fabulous and make you appear as great on the outside as you feel on the outside. When you find the right one, but it – you’ll be glad you did. If you always shop with this sort of intention in mind you’ll not only enjoy yourself immensely, you’ll also be working hard to build a full wardrobe that looks great.

Dress Up Games Are Pure Win

If there was a game online that would win hands down over the rest, it’s easily the dress up games. Dress up games are straightforward and great fun to play. To play a dress up game, you choose a base doll and then you add clothing to the doll before fine-turning with accessories. The end result is a doll and fashion plate of your own creation.

When playing dress up games, you can count on the experience being a joy and possibly even addicting. Some of the best dress up games are the ones that you might not even suspect of being fun. When looking for dress up games to play online, seek out games that catch your interest and inspire your sense of fun and fantasy.

Even if you think you hate goth and punk clothing style, you might have a good time creating a look that just makes sense for you. You might also be surprised at just how many styles you can create from what would be traditionally goth or punk. You’ll never really know until you try.

Dress Up Games for the Holidays

The holidays are a fun time of year for dress up games. Not only are there holiday parties, there are also dances and just a fun spirit of adventure at school and work when it comes to fashion. While preparing for the holidays, take advantage of all the warm and cozy looks that are available.

Start with comfortable clothing you can wear to those family gatherings that are so popular over the holidays. Cords and sweaters or comfortable skirts and shirts are nice choices. Once you have the basic stuff covered, look into more formal clothing you might need to wear to a special event around the holidays such as a dressier dinner. A nice sweater set and black pants is always a good option.

Finally, if you’re lucky enough, dig back into your fashion finds to locate a killer formal to wear to a Holiday dance. The winter is an excellent time to wear a velvet gown or one with rich detailing, such as a dark corset and full skirt if you’re lucky enough to have a formal event to attend.

Dress Up Games with Friends

Dress up games are best played with others. Nobody like to play dress up games alone, and when you have your friends around, you can get even more creative with the games. The best dress up games are the ones you can use in the long term. For example, taking your friend to the mall in search of new outfits can make a terrific dress up game.

Grab your friend and head to your favorite store in the mall. Instead of browsing for one or two items, put together complete outfits. Look for a top and bottom that match and even pick up a few accessories so that you can see the entire look together when it’s time to try on. Take your friend back to the dressing rooms and each of you get dressed in your first complete outfit. When you’re ready do a little fashion show to demonstrate for exciting your look is. Repeat the process with the other outfit.

Decide which one you like better for you and your friend and then buy it. When you buy a complete outfit, you’re adding elements to your closet that you can really use – unlike random pieces that you might not be able to pull together.

Dress Up Games for Winter

Winter is around the corner and it’s time to get ready. If you’re not ready for the winter fashions, you still have a bit of time. And if you wait just a few weeks later, all of the winter fashion is likely to be on sale anyway as we get closer to Christmas. Finding the right gear for winter is pretty straightforward when it comes to dress up games.

Heavy bottoms. Your pants should be heavy. Buy them a bit looser if you live in very cold areas to accommodate a pair of long-johns underneath on those extra cold days. But cords, heavy khakis and jeans can all get the job done. Heavy skirts are an option, too. If you live in a mild area or are daring, you can still wear those short skirts, but grab some tall boots to wear, too.

Sweaters and sweatshirts. The best thing about winter are the bulky comfortable tops. No other season lets you drag around in a thick sweater and jeans and feel awesome. Throw on some serious boots and you’re not only style, you’re amazingly comfortable as well.

Warm pajamas. And finally, be sure your winter fashions includes a nice pair or two of heavy winter pajamas. You want to be warm and cozy when it’s cold and blustery outside. And a nice pair of pajamas is the best way to do exactly that.

The Dress Up Games Box

Many girls have the same concept in their playroom or basement. For that matter, many boys do as well. The dress up games box is full of hand-me-down clothing and costumes from Halloweens and weddings gone by. Playing with the dress up box was a thrill, especially when you had friends over.

The Dress Up Games Box
Inside the box were all of the outfits and crazy clothing that had been rejected over the years. These include those ugly bridesmaid dresses your aunt and mother wore and the funny masks you used for Halloween last year. If you’re lucky enough to have an older sister, you might get to play with her gowns and cheerleading costumes as well.

But playing dress up isn’t really about what’s in the box. It’s about how you use it. Digging through the box will lead you to all kinds of fun things and possibilities. Learn how to put together fun outfits and then introduce that crowd favorite – face paint – to truly top things off in a fun and wild way.

Why Girls Love Dress Up Games

Girls seem to the be the ones playing most of the dress up games, and parents encourage them to do just that. The pretty princess dresses complete with crowns and shoes are great and we smile to see our children wearing them. Why is this? It’s not just because our girls look so pretty and grown-up. It’s creative thought in action.

Children learn in the first two years how to play using their imagination. The more imaginative play they enjoy, the higher their creativity will be. Playing games such as dress up games is a complete activity in creativity. Why? Because the game doesn’t usually stop after the young girl and her friends get dressed up. It’s just the beginning.

Once dressed, the girls will assign roles and get to work creating an intricate plot of what will befall each of the characters in the drama. Perhaps they will all meet handsome princes. Or maybe the princesses are being kept in the tower of the evil stepmother and must escape. Whatever the story, you can count on it being dramatic and entertaining.

The Case for Dress Up Games

Most parents encourage their children to play dress up games when they are young. Princess dresses and cowboy hats are part of the toy chest, but what many children and parents fail to realize is that there is not an expiration date on playing dress up games. They don’t stop at kindergarten or PreK. You can continue playing dress up games well into adulthood – and you should.

Playing dress up games as an adult is easier than you think. You have two options. The first is to head to the mall on a quiet day. Amuse yourself gathering up large quantities of clothing you can work into different outfits. If these are items you can afford, even better. Head to the big dressing room with the best lighting and start pulling things together. Choose your favorite outfit and buy it. Do this often enough and you’ll have a closet full of great things to wear.

The other option for dress up games is to head online to the collection of dress up games. The dress up games online have you select a base and then pick clothing to go over the base. Finding fun outfits in a variety of styles online will give you the added knowledge to pick things that will look great together when you go and shop for yourself in personal dress up games.

Playing Dress Up Games

Dress up games are great fun. Playing dress up games online is as simple as logging on and finding a fashion girl website. There are thousands, if not millions of websites dedicated to girls around the globe that help get dress up games out to the masses. Playing dress up games is straightforward. You simply select a doll base for your game and begin looking through all of the various clothing options. Put different styles and designs together to create a polished look. At the end of the game, you’ll have a dress up game worthy of praise.

You can then share your dress up game with others if you want by sending your completed doll to friends anywhere. Create contests and enjoy the challenge of pitting yourself against your best friend to design the best doll you can in any number of dress up game challenges.

Outgrowing Dress Up Games

There are certainly stages to a woman’s life, but I don’t think it’s actually possible to outgrow dress up games. Dress up games are one of the things that are with us from the early years until we die. Everyone loves to look at things that are new and visually interesting, and for most girls and women, this includes clothing.

In our earliest years, dress up games are princess dresses and super hero capes made from towels. Sheets become costumes and Mom’s closet is a treasure trove of interesting pieces. As you grow, the teen years can become a Mecca of shopping and current fashion. Even if you’re not dressing up in the trendiest clothing items around, you’re likely trying out a few new styles and walking around the mall at least sometimes with friends.

Adults go through phases when it comes to shopping. Sometimes you spend hours finding the perfect outfits for special occasions, and other times you simply aren’t interested in clothing or buying anything new for months thanks to other distractions. But over time, we always come back to the basics of fashion and dress up games. If nothing else, we realize that we can dress our own children and then their children and the cycle repeats.

Dress Up Games and Your Personal Challenge

If you like to challenge yourself, dress up games are absolutely the way to go. Playing dress up games is much like discovering fashion for the first time. The dress up games include an opportunity to find a doll base you enjoy working with and then pulling together outfits of all kinds for your doll to wear. There are a huge number of different dress up games you can try with your challenge.

A personal challenge should test your skills in new ways and always push you to do your best under any circumstances. In the case of dress up games, you’ll be working with new fashions and new dolls to create a comprehensive look. Consider the differences between creating a Goth dress up doll and a fairy princess doll.

They are both dress up games with a great deal of options when it comes to creativity and style. You can easily design a doll in less than ten minute and then go on to perfect her, create a story line for her and even submit her in any number of contests that are always ongoing.

The Essentials of Dress Up Games

Dress up games are a fun way to spend time with fashion. But dress up games don’t always have to be just for fun. You can use dress up games for any number of reasons, including preparing your closet for another year or school or work. Playing dress up games helps you whittle down the essentials of what you need for the coming year and what looks great on you.

To play dress up games, you’ll need two things – clothing and a large mirror. You can find these in a dressing room of a clothing store easily enough. Shop for new school clothing and you’ll see new styles and looks that you can try on and enjoy. But you don’t have to be at the store to shop and design looks for a coming year. At home, you can use your wardrobe essentials in new ways to pull together looks.

Look for black pants and neutrals. Combine new elements together to see how they blend. Use layering techniques to build visual interest in the designs you create. By the end of an afternoon digging through your closet, you should be able to come up with dozens of outfits that are fun to wear and feel new, even if they aren’t.

Dress Up Games and Unconventional Figures

There are few girls out there who have the same figure as a mannequin. Granted there seem to be plenty of them, but for every girl who seems to be the perfect size four, there are many more who fit into clothing in a very different way. If you’re one of the girls who loves dress up games but has an figure not found on a mannequin, don’t worry – there are dress up games for you, too.

Never worry about the size on the label. Different companies and manufacturers have a hard time being consistent about measurements. Start a shopping trip by trying on clothing in a few different sizes to see what fits the best. Clothing fits when it skims the body and doesn’t pull or dig in. If you have to suck into fasten the pants or the buttons are pulling, your clothing is too small.

The trick for most girls is to fit the biggest part of your body. Fit your tummy or your chest first and then take the clothing to an inexpensive tailor in your area. Have the clothing cut down to fit the rest of you and you’ll be able to wear your clothing comfortable and with more style than the girls who don’t have their clothes made custom for them.

Dress Up Games for the Theater

I love going to the theater. I think it’s wonderful to get dressed up and walk through the halls of the biggest theaters in a city. The hush of the hallways, the lushness of the carpet, the lights, the grandeur and the romance of it all appeal to me. The dress up games of the theater are my favorite part, however. There just aren’t that many opportunities to get dressed up and the theater provides a very nice one.

While you can play dress up games to go to the theater at any time, if you really want to have fun, plan on getting dress up to go to the theater in the evening. Attend a Saturday night show of a Broadway production and you’d best be dressed for the occasion. The crowd will be dressed in suits and gowns. Cocktail dresses or even long gowns will crowd the theater as people enjoy playing dress up games for such a fun event. Settle into your seat and enjoy the grandeur of the experience properly.

If you can, you should include hair and make up in your dress up games for the theater.

Fun with Dress Up Games

Personally, I find dress up games to be a lot of fun. I like creating new styles and watching my creativity in action is certainly fun as well. Playing dress up games can be fun in a number of ways.

I like to dig into my closet, or the closet of a friend who wears my size, and find all of the different things in there to play with. Mix and match styles. Try on different tops and bottoms. Layer things to your liking and pull on some accessories like large belts and funky jewelry. You’re looking for styles you might not normally consider wearing, but that are fun to try.

The other great way to play dress up games is on the computer. Hop online and find any of the thousands of dress up games online. Then select a doll base and clothing to put together a new look for the doll and possible a new look you might want to try the next time you go shopping. The more styles you create, the more fun you’ll have – especially if you share them with your friends.

Dress Up Games and Babysitting

I’ve discovered that babysitting is the perfect time for dress up games. Most often when you’re babysitting, you’re faced with hours of time without any planned activities. Filling those hours with fashion shows and dress up games is a great way to spend the time.

Start by adding a few important details to your babysitting backpack. Throw in some face glitter, face paints and hairspray. Bobby pins, junior lip gloss and nail polish will go over well, too. Show up ready for action with your backpack and you’ll have hours of fun.

Ask your young charge to head to her closet or playroom to pick out her favorite princess gown or outfit. She can dress any way she wants. Play princess with younger girls or rock stars with slightly older ones. Either way, once they have an outfit in mind, let her get dressed and then sit her down for a styling session.

Start with her hair. Get it up and sprayed in place. A curling iron might be required, but be extremely careful and only use it on older girls – never young ones who might wiggle. Then work on make up. A dusting of glitter and lip gloss is probably all you really need to give the little one a totally new look.

Understanding Dress Up Games

Dress up games are simple, but they can still benefit from a bit of discussion. The dress up games we enjoy come in two packages. One is the online version of the dress up games. To play online dress up games, you visit a doll website and select a particular designer. You might play with mermaids or celebrities. Pick out the game you like and then start adding elements to the base. Dress her up, put on a fun hairstyle and accessories. Add a background and you’ve created the basis for a new story and let your imagination have a field day.

The other version of dress up games are the ones you play in the closet or dressing room. Playing dress up games in your own closet lets you see what clothing items you have and what fits well. The stores and their dressing rooms are another fun way to play dress up games. Try on new styles and new outfits. Pull together items you’d never have thought to wear and try on the outfits mannequins are wearing just to see how they look on you. Not only will you have a great time, you’ll also be filling your closet with even more fun clothing styles.

Playing Dress Up Games

I love to play dress up games. I will play online dress up games all night given the choice, but it is making those dress up games personal that makes them so much more fun. Dress up games can be played using your own clothing and your own frame rather than a doll online. Start by playing dress up games in your own closet. Pull out everything in your closet and try each piece on before you put it back. If it doesn’t fit anymore, get rid of it. There is no sense wasting space or energy on clothing that is ugly and doesn’t fit.

Then, take yourself to your favorite store and start trying on new clothes. Fill the gaps in your wardrobe by buying some new basics, but don’t spend all of your time picking out basic items to wear. Instead, opt for buying new outfits. Try on complete outfits each time you pull something together to see how it fits and what it looks like together. Buy complete outfits rather than isolated pieces and you’ll soon have a complete look for every occasion and a fun, full closet.

Dress Up Games and Children

Children love dress up games with good reason. Playing dress up games allows children to escape into a fantasy world for a time and lets them create. Both of these are huge advantages and some of the best parts about childhood.

Dress Up Games Allow Creation
Dress up games allow children to create designs and styles. Playing dress up games gives children the opportunity to take seemingly random items of clothing and to put them together into a collection of styles. Pull together an outfit from the dress up box or play with the hundreds of fashion choices online to put together something that can only be termed a brand new style. Playing dress up games encourages creation of new ideas, new styles and the stories and backgrounds behind the items. Dress up games are simply a foundation for true creativity.

Dress Up Games Encourage Fantasy Play
Children live in the real world quite enough thanks to standardized tests and insane schedules. Being able to escape into a world of fantasy and fun is a huge developmental achievement. This level of fantasy play is highly creative, a skill that is increasingly lost in children. Playing dress up games gives a child the opportunity to delve ito whatever scenarios and conditions she creates in her mind while she dresses up a doll or herself. This creativity translates to stories, poetry and artistic abilities down th e road.

Everything is Right with Dress Up Games

If you’re worried about playing the wrong games online or getting into the wrong sorts of activities, dress up games leave you no room for fear. Playing dress up games is actually a rather wholesome activity.

Dress Up Games are Sold a Toys
Your first clue should come from the sheer number of dress up clothes available to little girls and boys in the store. Playing dress up games as a preschooler is a great thing. It build imagination and creativity. The same thing is true well beyond the toddler and preschool years. Dress up games are all about creativity and fun, even if you’re eighty years old.

Dress Up Games Build Brain Power
It wouldn’t seem likely at first, but dress up games can build up portions of the brain and encourage learning. Playing games that require problem solving, creative thought and ingenuity are all excellent activities for boosting the brain’s processes and connections Creativity especially is a huge component of thought and future academic success. Being able to create something, a style or look, essentially from nothing is hugely advantageous.

Dress Up Games Encourage Collaboration
To use a grown-up word, dress up games encourage collaboration. Working together on an outfit or a big dress up game scenario works nicely in regards to team work. Leaning to play well together goes well beyond the early school years. Playing nicely and coming up with a joint solution is actually a skill required in today’s top businesses.

The Dress Up Games We Play

All of us love to play dress up games or at least watch others enjoy the games. Of course, gender differences can make the games go a bit differently according to who is actually playing and how the game is set up.

Male dress up games are simple enough. Men might like to try on clothing to see how it looks, but the best dress up games for men involve just a few clothing, really. Men seem to love to paint themselves for sporting events. There is something tribal about painting half of your face and torso blue and the other half white. To the inexperienced painter, however, one does wonder how you get that grease paint to come off again.

Female dress up games are lighter and can be played with a more clearly defined purpose. Men dress up to show support and women dress up as part of their wardrobe and clothing collection. The dream of many, although certainly not all, women is to gather many different items into a dressing room and play with various combinations and styles. The fantasy is usually combined with an unlimited budget as well to buy the items that appeal to you.

Dress Up Games for Everyone

Dress up games are truly for everyone. There is nobody exempt from the appeal of watching a transformation through clothing, although there are many people who have a had time dealing with the actual trying on of clothing. Even if you don’t like trying on clothing, catching the tail end of a dress up show where you’re able to see the before and after are always a bit moving. Personally, I always hope the newly dressed individual will be able to keep up the new look.

Men, women and children alike enjoy playing dress up games. Men might suffer through a tux fitting for a formal event, but almost everyone of them enjoys the polished look when the outfit is complete. Women take armfuls of clothing into the fitting room to see how everything looks.

Children have the best scenario of all, however. The have clothes that are designed especially for dressing up. Little girls can become princesses and mermaids simply by pulling on their beautiful dresses. Boys can become firefighters and cowboys complete with hats and fake hoses thanks to kits of costumes. But still, the best dress up clothing of all are the hand-me-downs from Mom and Dad which are the foundation of any dress up clothes box.

Dress Up Games and College

Dress up game is a great way to consider your look for college. Playing dress up games can help you in several ways as you prepare to leap into the college scene.

Dress up games can help you pack. Get into your closet and start digging through your wardrobe. Only pack the things you think you might wear. There’s really no sense in taking a bunch of clothing that is out of season or is formal. If you need something later, a quick weekend trip home ought to take care of it. Space is tight in dorm rooms – don’t waste it on things you don’t need or really want.

Dress up games can calm your nerves. Playing with your clothes can give you a nice sense of perspective about what you have and how it looks as you prepare to head off to school. This can be very calming in an otherwise intense process.

Dress up games can give you new fashion ideas. If you’re heading to a school far away, you might need some ideas about how to dress in your new environment. Playing dress up games can give you a nice idea of what it’s like to dress in the tropics or in the frozen north.

3 Reasons to Love Dress Up Games

I love dress up games, and most girls I know feel the same way. It’s very easy to love dress up games once you start to play them.

Dress up games are simple. I love something simple yet fun at the end of a long day, and dress up games definitely fit the bill. Simply choose a model and then start to arrange her fashion items so that she looks terrific.

Dress up games break the mold. I hate things that tell me what to do or what step to take next. Dress up games definitely don’t do that. You have to be in charge of your own destiny when you play dress up games. You pick the doll, the outfit, the accessories, the total look.

Dress up games are family friendly. For those of us with computers in the center of the house, it’s easy to get stuck playing silly games so that the world doesn’t see your profiles. Dress up games are a nice way to kill while you wait for others to leave the room.

Sue Dress Up Games Should Flatter Your Figure

When you play dress up games and begin finding all kinds of new clothing to wear for the year or season, make sure that the clothing you buy is flattering to your figure. Clothing that is too tight or too loose is not flattering. In either case they can actually make you look a bit heavier than you truly are. If you find, as you play sue dress up games at the store, that you’re between two sizes, but the larger size. Then take the item to the tailors and have it tailored down to fit correctly.

Learning what styles of clothing look best on your body is important to, and this is an area where dress up games can really come to help. Try on different styles, especially ones you’ve never tried before. When you find a style that seems to really fit you nicely make note of what it is that is so flattering. Is it the higher waist line? The buttons? The large back pockets? Making your clothing flattering should be a mixture of art and science.

Be careful with the latest trends in fashion. Often these trends look great on models, but not on the rest of us. Models are walking clothes hangers, but the rest of us usually are not. Skinny jeans and the rest generally look best on figures that more closely resemble coat hangers, so plan accordingly.

My Top Three Dress Up Games

I love dress up games. I love them at home, in the stores and online. When I play dress up games online, I especially like the games that have an element of fantasy to them. These whimsical dress up games are among my top choices.

Fairy Dress Up Games – Who wouldn’t want to be a fairy? Designing a fairy with wings and a bit of mirth in her expression is terrific fun. I love the rustic and pretty outfits as well. Easily the best part of the fairy dress up games is making up a story as you play that goes right along with the character you’re creating.

Pixie Dress Up Games – Often misunderstood, pixies are much like fairies, but generally they don’t have wings. Someone didn’t tell Tinkerbelle, however. But regardless, pixie dress up games are just as much fun as fairy dress up games for the same reasons – rustic yet beautiful clothing, interesting characters and fun backgrounds.

Witch Dress Up Games – The best part of Halloween can be fun all year long when you play witch dress up games. Witch dress up games let you design your witch – be she good or bad.

Dress Up Games and Back to School

Although school has only been out a month, it’s already time to start considering going back to school for the new year. This is also the best time to consider playing dress up games with your own closet full of clothes. Pulling out all of your clothing to see what items still fit and which ones are in need of tossing is a basic activity everyone should try before school starts up.

When you are getting ready to go through your clothing be sure you have a paper and pen nearby to make a list. Your goal is to jot down everything basic you need to throw out. If you toss out almost all of your jeans because they are too short this year, be sure you write that down so that you can replenish your denim stock when you’re at the stores.

Once you have your closet sorted according to what you plan to wear in the coming school year, you can move on to the truly exciting dress up games. Take yourself to the mall or to your favorite store. Start pulling together new outfits that you really get excited about. Be sure to replenish your basic items, too including tees, denim and basic pants and tops. But the true fun of dress up games comes from finding styles that are hot that year and learning to wear them like a pro.

The Characteristics of Dress Up Games

Dress up games are something truly universal to girls playing games online. Playing dress up games online is simple to do, and the characteristics of a dress up game online aren’t much different than those of a game played in your playroom.

Dress up games foster creativity. When you play dress up games, you’re helping to stimulate your mind and use up a new form of creativity. Playing dress up games is a certain kind of challenge to the mind – one that is continually building. When you are presented with a challenge, the goal is to overcome it. As you continue to challenge yourself with the same sort of situation, you’ll soon realize that you’re growing increasingly creative to find the right kinds of solutions.

Dress up games are social. It might seem like a solo activity to sit down at your computer and pull together fabulous outfits for the dolls you find online, but in truth, dress up games are social. Playing dress up games online often brings you into forums and discussion boards about the games at hand. When you create a doll to enter into a contest or use your forum to get ideas about future dolls to design, you’re experiencing the true community feel of the dress up games.

Dress Up Games with Babies

I think mothers of babies are tremendously lucky if they can afford to play dress up games with their little ones. Playing dress up games with babies can be very expensive, however. If you haven’t recently purchased baby clothing, you might be surprised at how much the tiny little dresses and shoes can cost. Of course, when you’re a parent, it’s easy to spare no expense for the benefit of your little angel.

Those of us who are not parents, big sisters or aunts, we have to play by a very different set of rules. We can’t just borrow someone’s baby, and playing with a doll just isn’t as interesting. Instead, I prefer to play dress up games online. Playing dress up games online, I have the option of playing any sort of dress up games I prefer. This might even include baby dress up games.

But playing baby dress up games online is just a temporary fix. Eventually I’ll have to simply have my own baby, and for as long as she’ll let me, I’ll play more than a few dress up games of my own. I will certainly have the more fashionable, beautiful baby around.

The Dress Up Box

Growing up we played all kinds of dress up games. My mother was a big fan of dress up games, and since this was before internet, we played dress up games the old fashioned way. My mother made a box of her old clothing and interesting pieces she picked up along the way. The box was called the Dress Up Box and if you were ever in need of a tie to make a pirate eye patch or a long gown to wear in a fashion show, you could find it in the Dress Up Box.

Playing dress up games in my youth took on epic proportions. We would require all visitors to dress up. This included cousins and babysitters. As elementary-age students, it was always particularly impressive when a dress fit someone, like a babysitter for example. We had always assumed that the dress up clothes were much too big to ever fit anyone correctly.

Eventually the items in the dress up box got lost, cut up or throw away. The box disappeared, but the spirit of the game remains. To this day, I like to dig in my closet, pull out the more interesting pieces I have in there and see how they look when I try everything on. It’s like a game I play with my own sense of style and fashion sense.

Dress Up Games for One

Even those of us who love other people around want to have peace and quiet sometimes. When the urge strikes to just throw on some pajamas and kick back, consider some dress up games. You don’t even have to ditch the pajamas to play with some of the most powerful fashions out there today.

Dress up games online incorporate fashion from today, yesterday and everywhere in between. To play these games, you’ll select a doll base from the huge number of available games. You can then play with the hundreds of clothing items to make a great outfit. Pair things up you would be hesitant to try in real life just to see what happens.

When you find a look you like, why not save it or print it out to have for future games or for future shopping trips. Of course, if you just can’t stand so much solitude, you can also send the image to a friend and wait for her creation to come right back to you. Send pretty girls back and forth all night to see who has the better sense of style – or the worst!

Dress Up Games and Growing Up

It might seem that growing up should put a stop to childish games. Fortunately, dress up games aren’t childish. That doesn’t mean that you’ll play dress up games in the same way once you reach a certain maturity, but they certainly don’t have to stop completely. In fact, I think playing dress up games with your own wardrobe and with games online are a great way to stay current and even stay young. After all, who wouldn’t want to look great at any age?

Dress up games are simply enough. You go through your closet or the clothing racks of a store and try things on. You make new outfits, you try some interesting accessories and you just see how it all works. If you don’t have the time or inclination to play with the hundreds of clothes in your closet, you can also play dress up games online.

When you play dress up games online, you’ll be selecting a doll base and then working through hundreds of her clothing options to find the right outfits for whatever sort of event or reason you’ve considered. Dress a doll up for a dance just as easily as you’d dress her up for espionage work. Flex your creative muscle and have a great time doing it.

Playing Dress Up Games at Home

You have two different ways to play dress up games at home. The first is simple – head online and try on a few different outfits and clothing styles. Choose a doll base on any of the thousands of dress up games and make her look great in any style you like by combining pants, tops and accessories. Playing dress up games online is quick and easy and you can play at any time. The best part of these sorts of dress up games is how convenient they are.

The other way to play dress up games online is even simpler. Head to your closet and pull out everything. Put it all on your bed and start trying things on. By pulling out everything, you’ll be finding clothing you forgot you had. There are outfits just crying out for attention in your closet and as you pull them on and start mixing and matching, you’ll likely expand your wardrobe option exponentially.

When you play this sort of dress up game, you’ll want to find a long mirror so that you can check out the final results with each outfit. Try things on with the proper underwear so you can really see what still fits, what’s gotten too small or too large and what looks best on you. As you play dress up games with your complete wardrobe, you can also drop the ones you no longer want or wear into a pile to give away to others who can make use of those discards.

You’ll Never Tire of Dress Up Games

It’s hard to get tired of dress up games. They are almost instinctive to women, and the more you play, the more inclined you are to keep on playing. I’m not just talking about online dress up games, but also the dress up games you play every morning in your closet and every weekend at the mall. The best dress up games are the ones you play when you’re getting dressed and suddenly want to see if you can create a new and different outfit than the one you usually wear.

Playing dress up games is simple. You just start with the clothing in your closet and start piecing it together to see what kinds of looks you can create. A full length mirror definitely helps as well. Pull on different combinations of pants and tops to see what comes together and what maybe isn’t so great. Look from all sides and angles to be sure your clothing is laying straight and looking fabulous.

Dress up games are fun when you’re a child and just moving into the world of fashion, but they are just as exciting as you get older and start dressing for dates and big events. As you age, you’ll be looking for killer work outfits, outfits for special occasions and outfits for going out and having fun. Playing with clothing is simply a joy at any age, especially as your style changes.

Dress Up Games Are Better Online

I’m a big fan of cleaning out the closet to find the different outfits I can play with and try on. But even a clothing enthusiast like me must admit that the best dress up games are online. When you play dress up games at home, you’re limited by the clothing in your closet and possibly your mom’s closet. But when you play online, you have thousands of different dress up games to choose from.

Having thousands of different games means you’re not latched into a particular style or gaming idea. You can play a different style of game every night of the week and never run out of options. The sheer volume of dress up games is almost overwhelming. Until you’ve given at least a fair sample of them a try, you’ll never know what you’re missing.

Online dress up games have an added benefit. You can share them with friends. Save the images when you’ve completed a doll and send it on to a friend to show her what you plan to wear, what you need to buy or just for fun. She might just get into the spirit of the game and send you back something of her own creation.

The Secrets to Great Dress Up Games

If you love dress up games as much as I do, you likely already know the secrets of how to make the games even more enjoyable than a few pretty dresses and plastic high heeled shoes. But if you don’t happen to play the dress up games often enough to be in on a few secrets, I’ll gladly share them with you.

The best dress up games are online. If you’ve been playing dress up games at home and having a great time rummaging through your closet to find new outfits, you’re having fun. But when you go online and see the hundreds, or possibly thousands of dress up games out there, the fun multiplies substantially.

When you play dress up games, it’s also important to try out as many different kinds of games as you can. There are dozens of different styles of games and within each style category, you can find hundreds of individual games. This means you can spend weeks, months even years playing dress up games and never play the same game twice. Be adventuresome and seek out something new.

Share the games. It’s also great to share the games you’re playing with friends. Send over the finished creations or have a contest of some kind to test your skills with dress up games. Even just sitting down together and designing dolls can be great fun.

Dress Up Games and Your Parents

Many parents fail to understand that dress up games aren’t just something that four-year-olds play. Teens love to play dress up games, too and when you play dress up games as a teen there are more rules, but just as much fun. As a teen playing dress up, you can’t get away with wearing fairy wings and cowboy boots through the grocery store, but you can still spend hours putting together new styles of outfits to try.

You can work in your own closet, which your parents will likely understand. Playing with clothing you already own is simple enough. Try new varieties of the clothing you already wear to see if you can make something click in a new way. When you run out of options in your own clothing, take yourself to the mall and find some new pieces to try.

If you come home with pieces your parents find unusual, you might be in for a bit of a discussion, but hopefully they will be okay with you trying new things. If you simply can’t get them to bend on the style of clothing you wear around the house, you can also play dress up games online and practice creating your own styles on the internet where you parents simply can’t protest overly.

Three Types of Dress Up Games

Dress up games come in many flavors and varieties. Here are a few of my favorites.

Celebrity dress up games are fun because there are always new celebrities to dress up and the doll makers out there do a good job staying up with the trends. Look for celebrity dress up games for favorite singers as well as favorite actors. Sometimes you can even find websites and dress up games dedicated to a full band rather than just a single celebrity.

Punk dress up games are universally appealing, but not because we’re all into punk clothing. Instead, I think that we all have a bit of a punk edge to our lives and our personalities. By dressing up a punk dress up doll, we’re exploring that side of our personality to see if it’s going to come through.

Wedding dress up games are romantic and fun. I’m a bit of a romantic at heart, so playing wedding games is fun just because you can pretend you’re doing this dress design for real as opposed to just for fun on a rainy afternoon. Wedding games also let you create the most beautiful princess gowns as well.

Three Ways to Fix Dress Up Games

As much as I love dress up games, there is something to be said for fixing them up a bit to make them even more wonderful. In fact, I have a few ideas I’ve been stewing on for some time to fix up dress up games.

Sell dress up clothing in larger sizes. Often, by the time you’re really interested in becoming a princess, there simply isn’t a princess option available. I’d like to see a toy store with dress up clothing and accessories for women of all ages, not just girls of four or five.

Create a directory of dress up games. It would be much easier to see what was new and different by creating a website dedicated to dress up games. The more dress up games that come online, the better the directory would be. You’d be able to find new things to do with a few simple clicks.

Create a broader range of dress up games. I’d love to see more niche specific dress up games. There are so many different options available, and I think there should be more of the specific dress up ideas. Bathing suit dress up games, for example. Or simply a method for girls to try on the latest styles from certain designers.

The Problem with Dress Up Games

Dress up games are lovely, but that’s not to say there aren’t occasional problems with the games either online or off. As much as I love dress up games, it’s easy to see some areas that might need a bit of special attention.

Dress up games aren’t widespread. I think every girl should be playing dress up games both at home and online. After all, we all played dress up games when we were children growing up, but things stopped after a time. I think bringing dress up games back into focus would be a great thing for everyone.

Dress up games aren’t centralized. If you want to play dozens of different kinds of dress up games, you have to go multiple places to do it. It’s a shame there is not a directory available that lists all of the various girl games and dress up games available online.

Dress up games are too time consuming. It’s more a personal problem, but when I sit down to play dress up games, I seem to find myself enamored and playing for hours on end. This can’t be good for my homework situation or waistline, but at least while I play I’m using my mind.

Dress Up Games on a Budget

Dress up games are terrific, but dress up games can be expensive. If you’re buying new items to make complete outfits, or even if you’re just buying a few accessories, the price can easily add up. Playing dress up games on a budget is simple enough, however if you know what you’re doing and where you’re going.

Resale Shops
Start your games in resale shops. Often you can buy entire outfits for less than ten dollars and accessories are less than a dollar. Browse through the racks of clothing to see what is available and when you find a treasure grab it right away to use later.

Garage Sales
A garage sale is another terrific place to find bargains. Garage sales often have clothing in just a single size, but if you happen to be that size you’ll be in luck. Garage sale pieces are even less expensive than items you’ll find in a resale shop or a flea market, but they can be harder to find in your current size.

Flea Markets
Flea markets have a nice range of inexpensive, often distinct clothing. Flea market bargains can be a huge range of styles and sizes, but you might have to pick and browse to find real treasures.

The Best Things about Dress Up Games

Dress up games are a great way to relax and have fun online. The best things about dress up games, however, might not be what you’re considering at first glance.

Dress up games inspire creativity. Creative thinking is lost in many adults, so as children grow, often you’re losing out on the creativity that you loved and enjoyed throughout most of your childhood. By playing dress up games, you’ll be able to tap back into the creativity that makes up your most interesting fantasies.

Dress up games challenge you. Challenge is healthy, and learning to work in new ways and to create new things is the kind of challenge you need to keep your brain active and in gear. Challenge yourself on a regular basis by creating new designs and styles.

Dress up games are socially satisfying. When you play dress up games, you can share them with others through the website or through other media outlets. Email creations to your friends to let them see the sorts of things you’ve made and have fun showing off.

Silly Dress Up Games

Not all dress up games have to be serious. You can enjoy silly dress up games just as much as the real ones based on clothing in your closet. Here are a few of my favorites.

Grown-up Dress Up Clothes – Dig into your parent’s closet with permission, of course, and try on something that belongs to your mother or father. Even better are clothing that you can find in your great aunt or your grandmother’s closet. Look for hats and shoes from this era, too as they are just as great as the clothing. You’ll likely feel a bit silly in the outdated clothing, but you might also find a nice collection of vintage clothing you’d like to wear to school or to mix and match with other items in your wardrobe.

Charity Dress Up Games – When people donate clothing to charity, they often give away some of the most interesting items. Go through your local resale or charity store to see what sort of clothing options you can find. Look for the craziest things you can find and get your friends in on the act to see what sorts of combinations they can make. You can play with your new outfits in the dressing room, at home after you buy the clothing or you can make an agreement to wear the crazy clothing to school for the day. Being silly is fun when your friends are all doing it, too.

Dress Up Games at Home

I love to play dress up games at home. The best kind of all is at the start of each new season. For example, I do a summer clothing dress up game the first time it warms up each winter. When I feel that first warm breeze of spring, I think of summer and dig out all of the tank tops and shorts I haven’t worn in a year. I pull everything out of the closet and lay it on the bed.

And then the dress up games for girls begin. To start the dress up games, you simply try on clothing in different combinations to see what still looks good and what outfits you need to give away or put away. If you’ve lost weight, some of your clothing might be too big. If you’re gained a bit over the cooler months, you might need to pick out your bigger clothing for now and keep the smaller pieces boxed for a few weeks while you work to lose a few pounds.

Pull on tops and bottoms and look for outfits you can make. Go through your winter clothing as well to be sure there aren’t any hoodies or pants that you can wear over the last few weeks of transitioning from one month to the next. Long pants with a cami top look great, for example, as do a hoodie and a sundress – if it’s the right combination.

Dress Up Games and Creativity

Dress up games are a great way to express your creativity both on and off the computer. When you are playing with friends or digging around in your closet, you are able to pull together brand new outfits from the items you already have. The more clothing you have, the more creative you can be. And don’t be afraid to make new looks by using a thread and needle or just tying up shirts you already have or cutting off the legs of pants that are too short to make shorts or capris.

When you go online, you can get even more creative because literally thousands of styles are available at your fingertips. Pull together crazy outfits just for fun, or focus on outfits that are beautiful and style. See how outlandish you can be and send the designs to your friends so that they can have a turn as well.

In fact, online dress up games are the best way to truly challenge creativity. See what sort of doll and clothing you can make and then challenge your friend to top your design or to come up with a whole new concept. Perhaps everyone designs in red and then blue. Then create dolls for special events just to see how well you can do.

Fun with Dress Up Games

Dress up games are a great way to have fun, especially on a sleepover. Invite your closet friends over for a bit of fun and adventure by bringing out your box of dress up clothes as well. Start by going through your mother’s closet and find as many crazy items as you can. With her permission, add them to your dress up clothes box.

Then move on to your father’s closet and see what suits and other items you can find that would make fun additions as well. Suspenders, ties and knee socks are popular additions. Finally, visit the goodwill with a twenty and add the finishing touches of crazy clothes to your collection. You’ll want to wash those clothing before anyone wears them, however.

Once your friends come over, get them ready for the dress up game, but clearing the area and pulling out the make up and hair products as well. Then go to town. Pick clothing for each other and pull the complete outfit together by including new hair styles and make up. Take plenty of picture or show off in a fashion show just for fun.
