Outgrowing Dress Up Games

There are certainly stages to a woman’s life, but I don’t think it’s actually possible to outgrow dress up games. Dress up games are one of the things that are with us from the early years until we die. Everyone loves to look at things that are new and visually interesting, and for most girls and women, this includes clothing.

In our earliest years, dress up games are princess dresses and super hero capes made from towels. Sheets become costumes and Mom’s closet is a treasure trove of interesting pieces. As you grow, the teen years can become a Mecca of shopping and current fashion. Even if you’re not dressing up in the trendiest clothing items around, you’re likely trying out a few new styles and walking around the mall at least sometimes with friends.

Adults go through phases when it comes to shopping. Sometimes you spend hours finding the perfect outfits for special occasions, and other times you simply aren’t interested in clothing or buying anything new for months thanks to other distractions. But over time, we always come back to the basics of fashion and dress up games. If nothing else, we realize that we can dress our own children and then their children and the cycle repeats.
