Easter Dress Up Games

Easter is a great time of year for those who love spring fashion. Easter doesn’t have to mean pastels, but it usually does to a degree. There are lots of fun ways to play dress up games at Easter.

Easter Costumes
You have the option of wearing an Easter costume of course, if you can find one in your size. Become the Easter bunny or, better, dress up like a giant Easter egg just to amuse yourself and others.

Easter Dresses
Easter is a time many families bring out new clothing. Easter dresses and outfits are in spring colors and a bit dressier than you might normally wear. Make the dresses a bit flouncy and lacy and find some adorable shoes to match. Easter is the first day that when white shoes traditionally become acceptable, so you might look for a pair of white sandals or heels to go with it.

Easter Pajamas
The hunt for Easter eggs is fun for everyone, and many families do the hunt first thing in the morning. For these families, cute pajamas are almost a must to be sure that the pictures of the egg hunt turn out well.

Spring Dress Up Games

Spring is in the air and it’s time for some dress up games with a special hint of pastel. Spring doesn’t always have to mean pastel colors and white hats, but it is fun to wear something other than winter sweatshirts and heavy socks. The best parts of spring dress up games are easy to find.

Sandals
If you haven’t broken yours out yet, be sure to buy a new pair of flip-flops or sandals in bright colors. The brighter, the better. You might even buy them cheaply and get a few in different colors. Normally you have to throw flip-flops out after a season or two, so get some that you’ll enjoy without guilt or worry about their condition.

Skirts
If you wore a skirt in the winter, it was likely with boots and heavy tights. Now you can wear a skirt with bare legs and flats and nobody will think anything of it – except maybe how cute you look.

Tank-Tops
It’s finally time to start showing your shoulders again, and the first tank tops of the season feel great. Head outside to get some sun on your shoulders and smile with the first warm breezes of spring.

Bridesmaid Dress Up Games

If you have a friend or family member headed to the alter this summer, you’ll likely find yourself in a bridal shop soon to prepare for your role as bridesmaid. When helping a bride pick out bridesmaid dresses, keep in mind a few important factors.

Brides get to make the final choice. It’s important to remember that this is not your wedding and it’s not your time to shine per se. If you hate green, keep a lid on it. You might steer the bride toward a more flattering blue, but if she wants green, you’d better start loving green.

Bridesmaid dresses are rarely used again. There is a story that brides love to tell about the dresses being used again. This is a lie in most cases. Unless you are very, very lucky, your bridesmaid dress is unlikely to be useful for any other event you’ll attend with the exception of a cheesy dress up cruise dinner.

Enjoy your day to dress up. Even if you have to shell out more than you’d like for a dress you don’t even like, love the opportunity to dress up at least. Put on a pretty(ish) dress and do your hair. You’ll look great and feel great, too.

Valentine's Dress Up Games

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re in the mood to play dress up games, this is an excellent day to have fun with – everyone else seems to take flowers and such so seriously.

Create Matching T-shirts
Grab some white t-shirts, some rubber bands and a bit of clothing dye in red or pink. Then, twist and bunch your shirts together using the rubber bands to secure them. When the shirts are ready, make the dye and dunk each shirt multiple times in the dye to create the final product – matching tie-dyed t-shirts to commemorate the holiday.

Dress as Love
You can also push the dress code boundaries at your school by dressing as the god and goddess of love. Aphrodite is the goddess of beauty and love. Dressing in a full gown similar to the ones worn by the ancient Greek goddesses should be simple enough if you’re handy with a needle. Of course, dressing up as cupid, often shown as a diapered child, will be a bit trickier – especially if you bring the bow and arrow.

The Anti-Valentine
While not especially romantic and not very cheerful, you can express your disregard for the trappings of Valentine’s Day by wearing all black or gray – as if you’re morning what the Valentine’s Day holiday is all about. Dead roses might be just what you need to complete the look.

Valentines and Dress Up Games

A truly wonderful opportunity to play dress up games is Valentines day. What other day of the year do you get a chance to dress up in a romantic way, sit in a candlelit dinner and enjoy the company of someone you love. Or maybe that’s not in store for you this Valentine’s day, but you can still dress up for the event.

How you choose to dress on Valentine’s day is up to you, but here are a few of my favorites:

The Human Heart – Wear a collection of pink and red to make yourself look as much like a silly valentine as possible. You might even iron a message on a pink shirt and use some edging and lace to make it extra special.

Anti-Love – If you’re alone and slightly bitter about it on Valentine’s Day, why not dress in black? You can stage a protest of the merriment by being glum and depressing to those around you. This is more fun if you have friends willing to do it, too.

Snow Suit Dress Up Games

My favorite scene in any Christmas movie is Randy, the little brother in a Christmas Story, getting ready to walk to school. The warm winter clothes went on him followed by an extra sweater. Then the one-peice snow suit was pulled over it all and firmly zipped. A thick wooly hat went on his head and a scarf was wound about his face. At the end of it, Randy couldn’t raise or lower his arms as they were stuck in the thick suit and he could only waddle in his snow boots.

I think snow makes the perfect backdrop for dress up games. Where else do you get a chance to pull on so many layers? Start with long-underwear over your regular underwear. Then add a warm layer of shirts and pants before pulling on another sweater or sweatshirt. You might then slide into your own snow pants or at the very least pull on some snow boots.

If you wear jeans to play in the snow, your pants will get wet which might take some of the fun out of the day, so consider wearing a snow suit or snowboarding pants as part of your dress up game. Add a bulky snow jacket on top of everything and you’re almost there. Now you just need boot if you haven’t put them on already, gloves, scarves, hats and – if you’re like me – hand warmers tucked away for extra warmth. Online or in real snow, dress up games have great appeal.

Holiday Dress Up Games

I love the holidays and I especially love holiday dress up games.

Formal Dress Up Games
Easily my favorite, formal dress up games involve the kinds of gowns you get to wear to formal evenings at the theater and dances. I love the long gowns and sweeping trains. Paired up with gloves and a tiara, you simply can’t go wrong.

Costume Dress Up Games
You can’t beat Halloween for costumes, but Christmas comes close. You have the chance to dress up like an elf for the day if you want or maybe even pull on the full regalia of Santa or Mrs. Claus. Just once, I’d love to see someone show up at school dressed up like a reindeer.

Pajama Dress Up Games
Finally, I love Christmas morning when we all get to dress up in our pajamas and open gifts. Every girl should have at least one cute pair of pajamas, and this is the day to wear them. Since you will be in pictures, you should also take a moment to brush your hair and pull it into pigtails just to look that much cuter.

Dress Up Games – Winter Wardrobe

The best time for dress up games in the winter. During the summer you get to show more skin, but how different is one swimsuit from the next, really? In the winter you have so many more options – you can do a long skirt, a short skirt with tights, a pair of cords, a pair of jeans, overalls, and the list goes on.

When you start to dress someone in the winter, you get to really utilize layers. This helps to keep someone comfortable temperature-wise when they can add or remove a layer, and it helps to bring an outfit together.

Begin with a shell or long-sleeve t-shirt. Put a button down oxford shirt over the tee and then pull a sweater over the top of the oxford shirt. To dress up the look you can tuck the shirt into a pair of dress pants, or you can leave the tails out over a pair of cords or jeans. Either way looks great, especially paired with a nice pair of boots. Throw on a scarf and a winter hat and you’re ready for business – winter style.

Trying On Dress Up Games

I have friends who have never played dress up games online. In fact, I’m not convinced they’ve played them in real life either. I have decided to make it my personal mission to help these lost souls discover exactly how much fun dress up games can be. To do this, I shall take a three fold approach:

I shall make them dress up in costumes. I think wearing a costume is incredibly freeing. To make it easier, we’ll dress up in costumes at a special costume party-sleepover thing I’ll throw just for the occasion.

They shall sit down and dress up dolls. My giant collection of Barbie dolls should come in very handy while they learn critical skills about getting dolls dressed up in tiny clothing and even tinier shoes.

We shall play online dress up games together. I’ll bookmark a few of my favorite sites and invite them over for the afternoon. Then we can sit back, design outfits and compare the final results.

If this doesn’t get them into dress up games, I’m not sure what will. These are the very best weapons in my girly arsenal!

Three Easy Ways to Dress Up For Christmas

Christmas morning might be casual, but the rest of the holiday season seems to be filled with opportunities to dress up. You need comfortable yet attractive looks for church services, concerts, family dinners and the obligatory visits from relatives. Looking your best is always fun, but dress up games can give you help when you need it the most.

Grab Some Black Pants
Black pants are the easiest way to dress up for the holidays. Black pants pair up with anything, and if you choose a pair that can be washed in the washing machine, you can wear them and wash them over and over again. Black pants are such a staple, they simply fade into the background and nobody will notice if you wear them constantly.

Pick Out Easy Tops
With your black pants on bottom, you’ll need some bright tops. Pick festive items, but be sure they are easy to wash and wear. Go with trendy tops that suit your casual black pants. With so many chances to dress up, you can switch out the tops at will and always look great.

Invest in Black Boots
Those awesome black pants will need some black boots. If you can stomach it, go with the pointy-toe boots as they are the most fashionable and dressed up of your footwear choices.

Dress Up Games at Christmas

Christmas is the best time for dress up games – especially if you have a sister or a close friend who likes to play along.

Matching Christmas Pajamas
Christmas morning is a time of fun and excitement. No other morning brings with it so much fun and frivolity while dress in your pajamas. You’ll also be the subject of many pictures, so be sure to look your best. Pull your hair back into a messy bun and don your oversized Christmas pajamas. The kind with a button down top and drawstring bottom are always the cutest in my book. If possible, get a pair for you and for your family members. The more people in matching Christmas ‘jammies, the more fun the morning is!

The Christmas Dress
Remember when you were young and you couldn’t wait to get dressed up for Christmas dinner? You had a special Christmas dress that likely came with tights and shiny new shoes, and this was your special moment. Don’t let that excitement pass you by now. Go out and find a great new Christmas dress to wear and if you want some, grab tights, too. You might not be in red velvet with ruffles and bows, but then again….you might be.

‘Tis the Season for Dress Up Games

The weather is cooling off and it’s beyond time to pack away the summer wardrobe. Fall is here and the holidays are right around the corner. The coming of the cooler weather means that we’re in the best time of the year for dress up games.

Why?

Because dressing up over the holidays is more fun than any other time of the year. Sweaters and sweatshirts are warm and cozy. Long pants and boots are perfect for the season. Even getting dressed up for a night on the town is more fun when you get to combine tall boots with mini skirts and tights.

When you decide to show a bit of skin in the winter, such a hint of leg above the tall boots or a bit of shoulder peeking under a sweater, you make a much bigger impact than you do when you’re showing a great deal of skin in the summer. Showing just a bit of skin in a cooler weather dress up game is akin to romance and mystery, not steamy and sweaty fun.
