Dress Up Games in Winter

As much as I like dress up games, I don’t like them as much in the winter months. I’m not a huge fan of the cold, and playing dress up in the freezing dressing rooms or having to look at my dry skin in the bright florescent lighting is not a big turn on for me. I’d much prefer to wait until summer when I have a bit of color on my otherwise pasty legs before trying on clothing, but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. This winter I will hopefully be playing a lot of dress up games.

Why – you might ask? Because I plan to lose quite a bit of weight between now and then. I’ve already started cutting back on the junk food I eat and once I’m able to work in a plan to exercise and burn off some of the calories that have been hanging around for a while, I hope to start dropping a pound or two per week. If I can keep it up throughout the winter months, I’ll be losing rather steadily over time until I hit a new clothing size. And then I’ll have to play dress up games if I hope to actually fit into anything to wear to school. Rather than a pain, it will actually be a nice feeling to look at my now-thinner body in the mirrors – pasty skin or not!

A Hidden Benefit of Dress Up Games

There is money to be made in dress up games if you’re careful with your clothing. There seem to be more stores than ever that sell on consignment or offer cash for clothing that is in good condition. To make a few extra bucks, all you need to do is sell your clothing to one of these clothing resale shops. It’s simple – play dress up games at home.

To make some money, start going through your closet. As you handle each piece, consider how often you wear it. If it’s been a year since you last wore something and it’s in good condition throw it in the pile to sell. If your clothing is in pretty poor condition, you might be able to donate it or just recycle it into a quilt or rags for around the house. But even just selling five shirts and a pair of jeans that are too short can net you enough to buy a nice lunch. And you should never turn down what amounts to a free lunch.

Dress Up Games at Home

I think the best dress up games are the ones you play at home. When you go through your closet to dig out the old clothing you haven’t worn in a while, it’s a very cleansing thing, but it’s also a chance to rediscover some items you might have forgotten about. For example, I dug into the depths of my closet just the other day. I was getting ready for the traditional back to school shopping and pulled out all of my pants I had put away about this time last summer.

I gained some weight and the pants had been too small to wear comfortably then. I’ve lost weight recently so I went ahead and tried them on. The pants not only fit, but were more comfortable than the ones I have to keep yanking up into place as they slip down my hips. It was a nice victory for me in the weight loss department, but it was also a fun victory for saving money. With four new pairs of pants I forgot I had, I’m able to avoid buying anything new. Dress up games are definitely worth it.

Jeans and Dress Up Games

I love the different ways that jeans can be used to play dress up games. When you pull on a pair of jeans, you’re opening yourself up to a myriad of different styles and options. Jeans are the ultimate accessory for your wardrobe. They can be classy and cool or stylish and funky. They can be casual, working or lounging. The best part of denim is how easily it allows us to change our style by simply changing the items we pair with our favorite pairs of denim.

There are certain elements of jeans that must be taken into consideration. Jeans that are light in color, faded or torn will always be casual. Dark colored jeans and tailored trouser jeans will always be a bit dressier. So if you want to go to the ball game in your cap, t-shirt and jeans, you can do so in your light, torn jeans. If you’d rather go to the bar after work, you can dress up a dark pair of jeans with a draping top and bright jewelry. Shoes are the final element for a jeans wardrobe, and they go easily from tennis shoes and flip-flops to stilettos.
